Choosing a pool builder is a big decision. A pool is a long-term investment, and the cheapest quote is not always the best value. These are the questions to ask before you sign, so you can compare builders fairly.
1. How long have you been building pools, and can I see your work?
Experience matters, especially for structure, waterproofing and equipment layout. Ask for completed projects, photos and, if possible, a way to speak to past customers. You can see one of ours on our About page.
2. What exactly is included in the quote?
Ask for an itemised quotation. It should list the structure, finish, pump, filter, chlorination, lighting, civil works and any extras. Quotes that look cheap often leave things out, and you pay for them later. Our swimming pool cost guide shows what typically drives the price.
3. Who handles approvals and plans?
Pool construction generally needs approval from your local authority. Ask who prepares the drawings and submits them, and what you need to provide.
4. Concrete or fiberglass panel, and why?

5. What equipment will you install, and can I control it from my phone?
Ask for the brand and model of the pump, filter and chlorinator, and whether they can be automated. A variable speed pump, a salt chlorinator and a heat pump that connect to one app make daily ownership much easier. See our Smart Pool System.
6. How long will the work take, and what is the payment schedule?
Get a written timeline and a payment schedule tied to progress, not just to dates. Ask what happens if the project runs late.
7. What warranty and after-sales support do I get?
Ask what is covered, for how long, and who you call. Equipment breaks and pools need servicing, so after-sales support is as important as the build.
8. Can you upgrade or automate my pool later?
Your needs may change. Choose a builder who can add automation or new equipment later without rebuilding. We cover this in our retrofit guide.
