What a robotic pool vacuum does
A robotic pool vacuum is a self-propelled cleaner that moves around the pool, picks up dirt and debris into its own filter, and keeps the water cleaner between your regular maintenance. Most models drive along the floor, and better ones climb the walls as well. Cordless models have no power cable to tangle, and they run on a battery for a set time per charge.
Who benefits most
- Pools with trees, plants or dust nearby. Leaves and dirt settle on the floor every day, so regular cleaning pays off.
- Busy owners. A robot can handle routine floor cleaning so you only need to empty its filter.
- Homes where heavy rain is frequent. Malaysian rain brings dirt and debris into the pool, and a robot helps you recover quickly afterwards.
- Owners who want to cut pool service visits. You may still need a service for water chemistry and equipment checks.
What it does not do
A robotic vacuum does not replace your pump, filter or water chemistry. It will not balance chlorine or pH for you, and you may still need to brush steps or tight corners now and then. What to check before you buy
- Runtime per charge. It should be long enough to cover your whole pool in one run.
- Wall climbing. If you want walls cleaned, confirm the model climbs them.
- Filter size and how easy it is to empty. You will do this often.
- Cordless or cable. Cordless is easier to store and handle. Cable models do not run out of battery.
- Warranty and local support. Buy from a seller who can help if something goes wrong. Ask who services it in Malaysia.
- Price including tax. Confirm whether the quoted price includes SST.
